Career Summary

Duncan is a qualified CIPFA accountant with over 30 years’ experience in the public sector including 20 years at a senior management level. He has worked with East Sussex FRS since 2004 and joined them as statutory Treasurer (S112 officer – equivalent to S151 in local government) in 2013. In 2016 he became Assistant Director Resources & Treasurer.  He is responsible for areas including Finance, Risk and Insurance, Procurement, Estates, Democratic Services, Environment & Sustainability and Legal Services provision through Orbis Public Law.

As well as his role as a FRIC Director, Duncan is a member of the NFCC’s Finance Co-ordination Committee and an LGA Core Adviser for Fire.
