Nottinghamshire Fire Authority Joins FRIC

We are delighted to confirm that Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service  joined the Fire & Rescue Indemnity Company (FRIC) on 1 April 2026, marking an important milestone in the continued growth of the Mutual.

Nottinghamshire’s decision to join FRIC reflects the increasing recognition across the sector of the value of a collaborative, Member-owned approach to managing risk, claims and insurance. By becoming part of the Mutual, Nottinghamshire will benefit from FRIC’s tailored protection programme, access to specialist expertise, and the opportunity to share best practice with fellow Fire & Rescue Authorities.

FRIC prides itself on saving money for its Members by providing competitively priced cover, usually cheaper than elsewhere in the market. We are delighted to say that Nottinghamshire benefitted from this by saving on the premium from their previous provider.

The addition of Nottinghamshire further strengthens FRIC’s collective purchasing power and reinforces its position as a leading discretionary mutual dedicated exclusively to the UK Fire & Rescue sector. It also supports our shared ambition to drive long-term cost stability, improve risk management outcomes and enhance resilience across our membership.

We look forward to working closely with our new colleagues in Nottinghamshire and supporting them as they integrate into the Mutual. A programme of engagement and Member interaction is already underway, ensuring a smooth transition and enabling Nottinghamshire to fully benefit from membership from day one.

This comes at the perfect time for FRIC as it celebrates entering its 11th year. FRIC started with only 9 Members in 2015 but now has 15 and it has ambitious plans to grow yet further!
