Success for FRIC Members at the ALARM Awards Dinner in Manchester 2025!

A Night of Recognition and Celebration
The ALARM Awards Dinner 2025
The ALARM Awards Dinner in Manchester 2025 brought together the best and brightest minds in the field of risk management. The awards celebrated those professionals and organisations who have made remarkable contributions to the industry over the past year. FRIC was thrilled to be a part of this and to celebrate the success of three of our Members.
The Significance of the ALARM Awards
The ALARM Awards recognise excellence in public sector risk management and acknowledge the dedication and innovation of individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to the field. These awards highlight the importance of effective risk management in ensuring the safety, resilience, and sustainability of communities and institutions. The accolades serve not only to celebrate achievements but also to inspire others to strive for excellence in their own endeavours.
While this year saw outstanding success from Fire and Rescue Services, ALARM Awards are open to all public sector organisations, including local authorities, health services, education institutions, and more.
Categories and Nominees
The ALARM Awards feature a variety of categories, each celebrating distinct aspects of risk management.
Nominees for these prestigious awards are selected through a rigorous evaluation process, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates are recognised. The list of nominees is a testament to the diverse and dynamic nature of the risk management profession.
Some of the key categories include:
- Partnership of the Year: This award honours a team who demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and collaboration to work with partners to bring about effective solutions. We were thrilled that Staffordshire FRS won this award.
- Response Award: this recognises outstanding responses to emerging or critical risks, effective crisis or incident management and a demonstration of agility and resilience in the face of challenges. We were thrilled that Devon & Somerset FRS won this award
- Rising Star: This award is presented to an apprentice, student, or someone new in a role who demonstrates enthusiasm for, and innovation in promoting risk management. Entries are judged on evidence which demonstrates how this individual has engaged in, promoted, and developed opportunities to improve risk management. It was superb that Lorna Whinyates from Avon FRS was the successful recipient of this award.
Well done all! We were so proud of you all and thrilled that all of the Member Authorities who were nominated were successful.
